Understand the managed ownership model

Owning a coffee business does not have to mean personally covering each shift. The SENS RoboCafé fully managed model is designed for owners who want SENS to handle day-to-day operations under a defined agreement.

The kiosk prepares drinks automatically. The management arrangement covers the people, supplies and service needed to keep the business running. Before you decide, compare the responsibilities, fees, reporting and location plan with an owner-operated alternative.

What SENS manages

The fully managed model described by SENS includes location sourcing, restocking, cleaning, service and repairs, with profit shared according to the agreed model. Your proposal and contract should define the scope, geographic coverage, response arrangements and commercial terms for your unit.

Management is an operating service, not a promise of a particular financial result. Confirm what happens during equipment downtime, how extraordinary expenses are handled and how changes to a location are approved.

What you still decide as an owner

Owners remain involved in selecting the business arrangement and approving the location and key decisions. Review the equipment package, agreements, budget and reporting process before proceeding.

Ask who signs the location agreement, how funds are collected and distributed, what records you can access and what happens if either party wants to end or change the arrangement. Clear answers make it easier to evaluate the opportunity and manage expectations.

Evaluate the location and the economics together

Coffee demand depends on more than total foot traffic. Consider the customer mix, the hours of demand, existing beverage options, visibility, access and how easily customers can stop to order.

Request a location-specific operating model that separates sales from expenses and owner distributions. It should identify ingredients, packaging, payment fees, occupancy costs, service costs, management or profit-sharing terms and any financing payments. Label projections as projections and make their assumptions visible.

Actual profit depends on location, sales volume, costs and the terms of your arrangement. Earnings are not guaranteed.

Keep visibility into the business

The SENS platform describes remote visibility into revenue, inventory, refill alerts and machine status. Discuss which information the owner receives, how often it is updated and how operational issues are reported.

Ask for a sample reporting format before signing. Useful owner reporting connects sales activity, operating expenses and service events, so that performance can be understood over time.

Questions about managed ownership

Is this a completely passive investment?

It reduces the owner's daily operating involvement, but still requires business decisions and oversight. Equipment, location and commercial risks remain.

Is full management available in every city?

Discuss your target market with SENS. Availability depends on the ability to support the location and the terms offered for that market.

How does it differ from operating a kiosk myself?

An owner-operator takes responsibility for daily operations. In a managed arrangement, SENS performs the agreed work and receives compensation under the management agreement. Compare both models using the same sales and expense assumptions.

Explore whether the model fits you

Tell SENS your target city, whether you have a location in mind and your preferred level of involvement. Start with the responsibilities and a written proposal before moving to a purchase decision.
